I appreciate your notes about color quality, not just color temperature. While things have improved, so many led lights have awful color accuracy and that drives me nuts. Have you found a general purpose led bulb you prefer for replacing 60 watt incandescent bulbs? Most recently I’ve been fairly happy with some Phillips bulbs that they call Eye Comfort that also have 5 color settings but I’m always on the lookout for others.
That's one of the most impossible choices any person can make. I have no idea what is good. I just randomly pick something and deal with it and it's usually fine. It obviously depends on where they are and what they are for. I'm going to check out that Eye Comfort bulb, but Phillips tends to be very expensive... right?
They were surprising reasonable. Last purchase was Dec 2023. I checked the Phillips website and it appears they are replaced by something newer but I’m my opinion, maybe worse. Here’s a link to what I got. Looks like 6 packs may still be around:
App controls for the simplest of things is maddening. And the lack of buttons, come on!

I should check some local hardware stores for them.
I only have two dimmable switches I can use these for and getting six means a lifetime supply. You have a local nonchain hardware store?!
I use mine in non-dimmable fixtures. No, the true local one is gone. It’s True Value or Ace now.
I knew this newsletter would be expensive the moment I saw it in my inbox. Enjoy the $0.03, affiliate!
That Treeline image is killer, they should send you all of the lights.
Haha thank you!
