I recommend the tv show The Great Pottery Throwdown. It’s basically Great British Bake Off for pottery. They make A TON of egg cups. They do speed competitions where they have to throw egg cups “off the hump” meaning they form the little cups out of one big chunk of clay. One of the hosts is emotionally unhinged and either yells at everyone or cries at the beauty of their creations.
One time I was served a soft boiled egg in an egg cup that had a hidden egg underneath in the pedestal, so after you finished the egg, you picked up the egg cup and had another warm egg ready to enjoy. I don't even like soft boiled eggs but that was a next-level egg cup...

i love egg cups and use them for breakfast all of time to dip toast soldiers into! maybe just not a thing in america...
