If you were familiar with the original Noah Kalina Newsletter (sent via Mailchimp), I posted stories about personal photographic projects, behind-the-scenes stuff, social commentary, a whole bunch of random adventures, as well as links and recommendations to fun and interesting things. This one will probably be similar but I’m also going to try and use this place as an addendum to the videos I have been making on YouTube.
If you don’t know, I am an artist and photographer based in Lumberland, New York. I’ve been commissioned to make commercial work by the Museum of Modern Art, Google, Gucci, General Electric and Disney and I have made editorial work for The New York Times Magazine, Wired, and Dwell among many others. I’ve published two books, Bedmounds and Tiny Flock, and I was the main photographer for the international bestseller Cabin Porn. If you’ve stayed at an Airbnb you’ve probably seen it. My work has been exhibited all around the world and is in numerous private and public collections.
Also, my ongoing self-portrait project, Everyday, which I started in the year 2000 was parodied on “The Simpsons." Some people think that’s interesting.
